Downtown Silver Spring’s sweeping wave of a staircase has suffered wear and tear, warranting an overhaul to start later this month.

Crews will weatherproof the steps and replace the mosaic tiles starting around Aug 15, Jennifer Nettles, the shopping center’s property manager, told Silver Spring’s urban-district advisory committee last month. Expect the work to run for four months, she said. (more…)
