The Silver Spring Penguin is a news website focused on Silver Spring’s central business district. Founded in 2007, it offers fact-based reporting on news and events, and allows its readers to share information in a civil, constructive forum.

Penguin reporters cover several topics, including business, commercial and residential development, transportation and pedestrian safety, dining and entertainment, and political developments in Rockville and Annapolis that affect downtown Silver Spring.

New articles are posted on The Penguin twice daily during the week, and as necessary on weekends.
