This Weekend

UPDATE (2) — Let’s all breathe a sigh of relief for the weekend. I don’t care if it’s cold, rainy and straight-up raw. It’s a weekend, and that’s all I need to know.

At last, the Penguin newsroom can take some time to bathe our intern. Rain-soaked rodent is not a pleasant odor. The guys in the mailroom can crawl into a warm, safe bottle until Monday. And I can work on that experimental balloon I’ve been designing over the last few days (in case you wondered what I was up to).

In the meantime, don’t let the season’s first Nor’Easter knock out your weekend fun:

Really figures that as soon as I get a new camera, the weather decides to turn on me – and stay turned! Been a few weeks since I’ve hit up the market though, sounds like a good rainy morning activity. At least it’s not snow!

  2. Snap some pics at tonight’s Kid Koala gig.

I forgot to send this in earlier: You can tour the Old Blair Auditorium on Saturday October 17 from 9 to 11 am. 313 Wayne Avenue, Silver Spring (corner of Dale and Wayne).

Actually, the school building itself will be open (it is the Blair 75th Anniversary weekend and the old school will open as well). The general public is invited for the auditorium tour. You can see the cool mural that was installed outside the auditorium last month.

  5. whaa? No “New Kind of Kick Fest” at the Quarry House Tavern?? Fri/Sat/Sun Garage-Punk-Rock extravaganza! 20+ bands!
