Stick a fork in it — The Penguin’s “Drink Local” drawing is done, and we have a winner!

Congrats go to Megan Griffin (presumably no relation to Meg Griffin), who won a pair of tickets to Thursday’s “Drink Local” wine tasting and seminar, sponsored by GiraMondo Wine Adventures. Megan and her guest will have the opportunity to sip vino from some of Maryland and Virginia’s finest vintners, plus learn about how this region’s environment contributes to a wine’s flavor.

Jealous? You should be, as this gig is going to be uber-cool. There might be a few tickets available online if you’re willing to drop some cash. Otherwise, stick around for the next Penguin drawing.

Monday

8:00 p.m. The Forum Theatre Co. presents Tony Kushner’s award-winning drama “Angels in America: Millenium Approaches”. This event takes place at the Round House Theatre (8641 Colesville Rd); tickets are $25 each.

Tuesday

9:40 a.m. The county council announces its appointments to a task force examining uses for the Sligo Creek Golf Course, which might close next year. This free event takes place at the county council’s office building (100 Maryland Ave, Rockville), third floor, and is open to the public.

1:30 pm. The county council receives public testimony on whether $1.4 million in funding for the Silver Place mixed-use development should come from county revenues. Currently, certificates of participation fund the project on Georgia Avenue and Spring Street. This free event takes place at the county council’s office building (100 Maryland Ave, Rockville), third floor, and is open to the public.
