This Weekend

UPDATE — Just like that, another summer in Da Sprang has come and gone. While it wasn’t as raunchy as expected (nice time to go into detox, mailroom guys!), it was good overall.

The newsroom managed to kick out some good content, despite the government’s recess in Rehoboth. I went on a six-week Burger Quest that will resume next summer (I’m looking at you, Ray’s The Classic). And to celebrate the new fall semester, our Penguin intern scored this incredibly fly ride. Fucker.

On behalf of everyone at Penguin HQ, I hope you enjoyed the summer as much as we did. Soak up the last bits of it this weekend, then brace yourself for a busy autumn.

    Hmm…

Editor’s note: I hope that “Hmm …” is for “Hmm, maybe I should buy an ad on The Penguin, too.” — JD (Sep 4, 2009)

Steven Gellman is a treasure. He usually performs miles from here, so this is a great chance to see him right here in DTSS!

  3. LuvMyHood says:

Yeah, Discovered. You should buy an ad. This is no ordinary blog. Jennifer has sat through lots of obscure local meetings and run some great visuals. Real reporting, you know, like newspapers were supposed to do but often didn’t? Reporting takes resources, so buy an ad!

    Editor’s note: I appreciate your support, LMH! — JD (Sep 5, 2009)

You forgot the DC Blues Fest AFTERParty on Sat night right here in the heart of Fenton Village at the American Legion – now THAT is going to be a cool party. I’m not sure of the line-up but I heard it is $12 cover — whereas actual Blues Fest at Carter Barron duringthe day is free.
