UPDATED — This week, the Penguin newsroom rolls out a new series of restaurant reviews that we’ve dubbed “Burger Quest: The Search for Silver Spring’s Best Burgers”. Cool, huh?
Okay, so it’s not “Lord of the Rings” or whatever. But it’s still an epic adventure pitting my stomach (and cardiopulmonary system) against the forces of high heat, bacon and cheddar.
A new burger review drops every Wednesday. Until then, here’s what else is cooking:
Monday
Gather thoughts and prepare for the week ahead. It may seem quiet, but those are the weeks that open themselves up to a lot of insane bullshit.
Tuesday
8:00 p.m. Experimental musicians Eli Keszler, Ashley Paul, and Silvum perform as part of the Sonic Circuits Festival of Experimental Music. This event takes place at the Pyramid Atlantic Art Center (8230 Georgia Ave) and costs $7 per ticket.
Wednesday
9:00 p.m. The Pyramid Atlantic Art Center (8230 Georgia Ave) hosts a free outdoor screening of the comedy “School of Rock” (2003) starring Jack Black. Guests are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs and food.
Thursday
7:00 p.m. Architects and representatives of the county’s department of general services conduct a forum on how Silver Spring’s new library will be designed. This free event takes place at the Silver Spring library (8901 Colesville Rd) and is open to the public.

Ray’s the Classics is a must go to for the burger tasting. You can’t beat Quarry House either on Monday nights with 1/2 burger night and a killer roster of beers.
Are you also going to review veggie burgers? Are there any veggie burgers IN Silver Spring? Tastee Diner used to serve them but I haven’t been there in awhile.
Luvmyhood, you can get a pretty good veggie burger at McGintys Pub, along with great fries. After a few Irish whiskeys, whatever you eat there will be the absolute best food you have ever had in your life, ever.
