While photog Jeff Lautenberger does say the parade had "weird and bizarre scenes," he adds (and the article quotes): <blockquote>"The whole community spirit and interaction reminded me why I always love to come check the parade out."</blockquote> It's too bad that the downtown Silver Spring area can't have an annual Fourth of July celebration like a parade or fireworks. I've been going for 26 years(and was in the parade twice). There is a very neighborhood feel and some things are very Takoma Park. This year the TK council members almost all rode bikes or pedicabs- and Terry Seamens pulled another coouncil member in a rickshaw(Terry must be 70) I don’t think the parade is bizarre or weird.
