Visit our historic B&O Station in Silver Spring at 8100 Georgia Avenue on the first Saturday of the month. On May 2 from 10am to 3pm, we have tours of Silver Spring by Jerry McCoy, a Thomas playtable, videos for children, and a protected train viewing canopy in the rear. The featured video presentation this Saturday is Charles and Ray Eames’ “Tocatta for Toy Trains” with antique toy trains from the British Museum and other collections.

The station has limited on-site parking. Turn in at the new fire station.
Free to visit station, Walking tours are $5.

I don’t think it is egotistical — I think it is just plain smart. DDJ, at your work place do you enjoy folks coming in and pilfering your work and claiming it as their own? I’ve had quite a bit of my content “repurposed” and have to say it is not a pleasant discovery. The Net is a terriic tool, too bad so many abuse it.

Allowing only the first line of an article to appear in the RSS feed prevents other online publications from automatically posting full Penguin content on their sites (ie, copyright violation).

Other publications — The Washington Post, The Washington Times, The New York Times, etc. — do the same with their RSS feeds.

Why does only the first line of your blog postings show up in your RSS feed? It makes the thing pretty useless, compared to a real blog feed.

Saturday’s farmers market will be held on Ellsworth Drive between Fenton and Cedar streets, one block NORTH of its usual location. It will return to its usual spot on Ellsworth between Fenton and Georgia Avenue next week.
