For the first time in a long while, The Penguin calendar is clear. I got nothing. Nada. Zip.
Happy holidays to all!
Thursday
All day. Montgomery County gets jolly on your ass by closing its offices, libraries and courts for Christmas day. They’ll even let you park at county-owned lots and curbside meters for free. Just don’t expect the elves to open MoCo’s liquor stores that day, or for the bus or train lines to run on anything but a Sunday schedule.

Merry Christmas, Silver Theatre! Merry Christmas, Armory! Merry Christmas, you wonderful old Perpetual Building Association!
Speaking of county garages, have the parking police gotten more aggressive lately? Seems like they’re issuing tickets at an increasing rate – I actually saw them trolling the Spring/Cameron garage at 6:50pm tonight (those meters are only valid till 7pm).
Sleazy, guess they’re trying to make up the budget shortfall by taxing commuters – nice.
the liquor store may be closed, but Lenox Beer & Wine is open on Christmas Day!
