The Early Bird

This week looks like a quiet one for The Penguin newsroom, so I’m dedicating all energy to prepping for this month’s Zombie Walk.

What to wear? According to a quick scan of Flickr’s zombie collection, the undead tend to gravitate towards the tattered, blood-stained look. Anyone whose had the misfortune of crossing my path knows I’ve got tattered down cold. As far as blood stained goes, I guess a Penguin intern sacrifice is in order.

Also, I’ve been working on my zombie stagger, known in The Penguin newsroom as the dance sequence to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video. Don’t mean to brag, but it’s totally hot.

Take a few minutes during this quiet week to map out your zombie game plan, then hit Tuesday’s meetings:

Tuesday

7:00 p.m. The county’s department of libraries considers design suggestions for Silver Spring’s new library. Drag your own design ideas to the Long Branch Community Center (8700 Piney Branch Rd). BYO crayons.

9:00 p.m. The presidential candidates go toe to toe in a town hall-style debate, this time at Belmont Univesity in Nashville. Gas up the car and head to the Volunteer State, or catch it at home on the news network of your choice.
