I’ve learned a couple of things in my 37 years of existence. Don’t touch the dog bowl while the dog is feeding. Yellow snow is bad. Most importantly, if you want something done, you’ve gotta do it yourself. (more…)
If you’re reading this on a CrackBerry while you sun your buns in Rehoboth, take comfort in knowing that you’re not missing anything in Silver Spring. The house plants are well watered, your neighbor is fetching the mail, and the cat can entertain himself. It’s all good!
On the other hand, if you’re too broke to drag your ass onto the Metro, soak up the last of Downtown Silver Spring’s free concerts. And if you’ve got enough fumes in your gas tank, hit the county fair in Gaithersburg.
But save some of that staycation enthusiasm for next Wednesday. That’s when The Penguin and The Silver Spring Stage kick out the one-act play “Ghost Painter” at the Mayorga Coffee Factory (8040 Georgia Ave). The free gig starts at 8:00 p.m., so no excuses.
Tap that into your CrackBerry, then scroll down for Silver Spring’s weekend pickings:
Throughout the weekend
It’s your last chance to hit the annual Montgomery County Agricultural Fair. Gas up the car, schlep to Gaithersburg and cough up $8 at the gate. The pig races are worth it.
Spare yourself the parking headache and hitch a ride on the free shuttle bus from the Lakeforest Mall.
