Thursday

8:00 p.m. The dark comedy “The Marriage of Bette and Boo” hits Montgomery College’s Black Box Theatre (Philadelphia at Chicago Aves, Takoma Park). Pay what you can this weekend only.

Friday

5:30 p.m. Rockabilly musician JP McDermott shakes and shimmies at South Silver Spring’s Arts Alley (8030 Georgia Ave) until 7:30 p.m. This event is part of the weekly Arts Alley Fridays series of free performances.

6:00 p.m. Producer 88 kicks out thick electronic beats and installation art in “Loda”, a new weekly gig at Gallery (1115 East West Hwy). Ten bucks and convincing ID get you through the door.

8:00 p.m. The dramedy “Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean!” drops on the Silver Spring Stage (10145 Colesville Rd). Tickets are $15 to $18 each.

9:00 a.m. Freshfarm holds its weekly farmers market on Ellsworth Drive, between Fenton Street and Georgia Avenue,until 1:00 p.m. There is no admission fee.

10:00 a.m. Members of the Silver Spring Historical Society lead a walking tour of Georgia Avenue. The two-hour urban trek starts at the B&O rail station (8100 Georgia Ave) and costs $5 per person.

3:00 p.m. General Motors takes another shot at staging the Silver Spring auto show (at least that’s what I’m calling it) after being rained out last weekend. Catch it on Ellsworth Drive, between Fenton Street and Georgia Avenue, until 9:00 p.m. There is no admission fee.

6:00 p.m. Jackie’s Backroom (8081 Georgia Ave) hosts an opening reception and after party for photographer Christine Zona and her show, “Thru Holga’s I”. There is no admission fee.
