Wednesday
5:00 p.m. The state transit administration presents updated information on the Purple Line mass-transit project. This free event takes place at the East Silver Spring Elementary School (631 Silver Spring Ave) until 8:00 p.m. and is open to the public.
Thursday
10:30 a.m. As part of its 2009 budget deliberations, the county council votes on a $5 million appropriation for the new Silver Spring public library. This free event takes place in Rockville and is open to the public.
10:30 a.m. The county planning board combs through its annual highway mobility report, which considers traffic on local streets and highways. This free event takes place at MNCPPC headquarters (8787 Georgia Ave) and is open to the public.
3:30 p.m.Silver Spring’s urban-district advisory committee holds its monthly meeting at Discovery Communications (1 Discovery Pl). This event is free and open to the public.
