Monday

7:30 a.m. County council member Valerie Ervin (D-5) speaks with commuters aboard the Q2 Metrobus to Rockville. This event starts at the bus stop on Wayne Avenue near Dale Drive in Silver Spring, and ends on the west side of the Rockville Metro station. Participants are responsible for their own bus fares.

7:00 p.m. Silver Spring’s neighborhoods committee holds its monthly meeting at the Silver Spring Regional Center (8435 Georgia Ave). This event is free and open to the public.

7:30 p.m. Whole Foods Market (833 Wayne Ave) hosts a demonstration on how to hand-roll sushi. This event costs $10 per participant.

Tuesday

9:50 a.m. The county council discusses a zoning text amendment that would allow a downtown music venue to serve as public-use space for a larger development project. This free event takes place in Rockville and is open to the public.

1:30 p.m. The county council holds a hearing on proposed rate increases at downtown Silver Spring’s garages. This free event takes place in Rockville and is open to the public.

Wednesday

7:30 p.m. Silver Spring’s transportation and pedestrian safety committee holds its monthly meeting at the Silver Spring Regional Center (8435 Georgia Ave). This event is free and open to the public.

Thursday

1:00 p.m. The county planning board discusses a draft plan for green space in Silver Spring’s central business district. This free event takes place at MNCPPC headquarters (8787 Georgia Ave) and is open to the public.
