This weekend in Silver Spring, it’s all about good, clean family fun. Marshmallow roasts and teddy bear picnics. Break out the cookies and milk, people. We’re going wild, Disney style.

Thursday

7:30 p.m. Singer-songwriter Bernie Muller-Thym teaches teens how to develop, record and publish a song. This free event is hosted by the Silver Spring Public Library (8901 Colesville Rd) and is open to the public.

8:00 p.m. The Spooky Action Theater troupe performs Sam Shepard’s “Fool for Love” at Montgomery College’s Black Box Theatre (Philadelphia at Chicago aves, Takoma Park). Tickets are $10.

Friday

2:00 p.m. Members of the Old Blair Auditorium Project lead a guided tour through the 1,200-seat high school auditorium. The tour starts outside the adjacent Silver Spring International Middle School (313 Wayne Ave). Donations are accepted.

7:30 p.m. Students with Montgomery Blair High School (51 University Blvd E) perform the musical “Beauty and the Beast”. Tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for students and seniors.

8:00 p.m. The Spooky Action Theater troupe performs Sam Shepard’s “Fool for Love” at Montgomery College’s Black Box Theatre (Philadelphia at Chicago aves, Takoma Park). Tickets are $10.

8:00 p.m. The Silver Spring Stage (10145 Colesville Rd) presents the comedy “The Cripple of Inishmaan”. Tickets are $15 to $18.

8:00 p.m. The Round House Theatre (8641 Colesville Rd) presents “Cyrano”, adapted by Jo Roets and performed by local teens. Tickets are $15 each.

Saturday

6:00 p.m. The Gateway Heliport Gallery (8001 Kennett St) hosts a reception for 12 women artists whose exhibited works honor National Women’s Day. This event is free and open to the public.
