One man was stabbed with a screwdriver as he and another fought over a Fenton Village parking space.
The injured man — an unnamed, 28-year-old Silver Spring resident — took multiple jabs to the hand and torso when he and the suspect tousled Tuesday evening, according to the third-district police.
The two men got into it when the suspect — Edward Banya, 42, of Jasmine Drive, Hyattsville — drove along the 900 block of Bonifant Street and spotted the victim inside his parked car, The Washington Post reports.
When Banya grew tired of waiting for the victim to pull out of the parking spot, the two began to argue, The Post says. That’s when police say Banya went for a screwdriver in his car and stabbed the victim.
The victim was treated at a local hospital and released. Banya, on the other hand, was busted for first-degree assault and held on $85,000 bond.
A peek into Banya’s vehicle also revealed a couple thousand copies of bootleg DVDs. Copyright infringement was added to the charges against Banya.
