The Early Bird

Tip of the day: Go to work. Save that sick leave for a day that isn’t as hot or humid. Besides, there isn’t too much cooking this week:

Monday. County councilmembers hash out details of how growth policy will be run, and whether developers should look into construction’s impact on pedestrians and cyclists. The double header goes down in Rockville starting at 9:00 a.m.

Monday. Silver Spring’s transportation and pedestrian safety committee meets to discuss, well, transportation and pedestrian safety. The deal drops at the Silver Spring Regional Center (8435 Georgia Ave) starting at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday. At 9:30 a.m., county councilmembers gets an update on safety inspections at the Charter House, a Fenwick Lane apartment building for seniors. A gushing pipe trashed the building’s basement in December, forcing residents to split with nothing but the shirts on their backs. Residents were allowed to return in March.

Thursday. The planning board irons out details of the Silver Spring Transit Center. The discussion drops at planning board HQ (8787 Georgia Ave) during the 1:00 p.m. session.
