Monday. The Silver Spring Historical Society presents its case to preserve the Falkland Chase apartment complex. The discussion drops at Silver Spring’s neighborhoods committee meeting. That gig starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Silver Spring regional center (8435 Georgia Ave).
Monday. Councilmember Nancy Floreen (D-At large) and the East Silver Spring Citizens Association talk about new residential development planned for Silver Spring Avenue. That meeting drops at 7:30 p.m. at the Sligo Recreation Center (500 Sligo Ave).
Monday. The Linden Civic Association gets the scoop on efforts to preserve historic buildings at the National Park Seminary site. The deal goes down at 7:30 p.m. at the Gwendolyn Coffield Community Center (2450 Lyttonsville Rd).
Tuesday. The county council holds a public forum on funding Montgomery College’s expansion plans. More than a million bucks for the Silver Spring-Takoma Park campus hangs in the balance. The forum happens at 1:30 p.m. in Rockville.
Tuesday. The Long Branch advisory committee meets to discuss all things Long Branch. The deal drops at 7:00 p.m. at the Long Branch Community Center (8700 Piney Branch Rd).
Wednesday. Maryland’s transit administration holds a community forum to discuss the Purple Line’s impact on east Silver Spring. Things get cooking at 7:00 p.m. at the Oakview Elementary School (400 E Wayne Ave).
Wednesday. Silver Spring’s commercial and economic development committee meets to talk about, well, commercial and economic development. The meeting goes down at the Silver Spring regional center (8435 Georgia Ave) at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday. Developers ask the county planning board to postpone a public meeting on the Silver Spring transit center. Issues surrounding the transit center’s public park are holding things up. The developers make their case at the planning board’s headquarters (8787 Georgia Ave) at 9:00 a.m.
